That does not bother me at all. Making a bowl is not what it used to be. Now it is the right to play a 13th game for more practice and to get some goodies for the players for doing better than half the schools, and allow the fans to take a trip somewhere if they so desire. A little better than a participation ribbon.

The new, higher goal is to get to one of the "good" bowls. This would be the equivalent of what used to be the only bowls back about 30 or 40 years ago. And of course the ultimate goal is to get to a BCS bowl and then after this year, into the playoffs.

But there is no reason to be upset to go to a bowl with a 6-6 record. What one should be upset about is not getting to a better bowl with a better record. Going to a bowl game should be good and fun for all.

We have enough below .500 teams that we play that anything is possible since all we have to win is 1 extra game.

Break-out the "we played hard" trophies, so sad, so sad indeed...

I will say its great for the practice but as fans we are just going to call it what it is, a random 13th/14th game. Obviously if we go to a Hawaii like "bowl" I'm surely not going to be running around scream "We won the Hawaii bowl!!!!" I'm just going to be like "we went 7-6 for the season, hope we actually go bowling next year"
