Helping players help themselves

Defensive lineman Mickey Dollens was a little-known player on a bad high school football team. But he figured out a way to get the attention of college coaches and landed a scholarship to SMU. Now Dollens has written a book to help current players market themselves to coaches on-line, which saves them the cost of shipping materials and displays a measure of marketing savvy many high school players simply don't have. Dollens visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the book, and will be signing copies Saturday on the Boulevard.

I played intramural volleyball with that guy in summer 2008. Didn't know he was a football player then but I saw him the next football season.
