Hal Mumme for head coach

Postby Rebel10 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 5:56 pm

In the years JJ had been here I have never seen the offense go like this. It has to be because of the tweaks Coach Mumme has put in the offense as well as making it easier to understand. If June leaves I say let's go with Hal and give him an aggressive recruiting staff.

I'd be ok with it if he could seriously get a real staff in here to support him, but that's not going to happen so I say no

we could go with Hal, take the money we save on an OC and throw it at a big time DC - and hire four stud recruiting guys to cover texas like a blanket.

This. (Plan B if we can't get a Chad Morris type).

Honestly, that might have been the plan all along (between JJ and the powers that be) - he can hand the reigns over to someone he "chose" and everyone can shake hands and be grateful to each other.

Mumme hires some stud recruiters (remember he himself landed the only 4 star we've gotten post-DP so he's no slouch) and maybe a young up and comer HCIW.

right or wrong- I just don't want coaches that are presently here to be coaching SMU next year.
Mumme has boosted this O but I would prefer a younger coach with a lot of enthusiasm.

remember that Mumme's being here is what attracted Tyler Harris. I could envision a scenario where JJ "retires" and Mumme takes over...and overhauls the staff

The key is overhauling the staff.

I said from the beginning that I think this was the plan all along, and I think there are many positives to it.

Ugh our program needs a revival not a continuation. As great as the offense is against crap teams, they still suck against decent teams... End mediocrity!

As I said in another post that as easier way to do it would be to just schedule more bad teams. Yes, I know it would be somewhat smoke and mirrors but hey we would all have fun.

Just win baby. That's all that matters. Even if you have to manufacture the wins by scheduling below .500 teams.
