Whats worse than SMU NOT covering the 14?

Watching thousands of SMU students walk around the BLVD during the parade only to NOT go to the F-ing game --- Who are these kids?

Walking into the game walking past thousands of smiling fans, who may not even know that a game may be going on 500 yards away.

Makes me sick --- More fans on the BLVD that don't really give a [deleted] about what we are trying to get done inside FORD.

Embarrassing really === How do we compete with anyone bringing HS seniors into this stadium on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon?

These people dont understand how great they have it vs. loading up into buses to go to Texas Stadium like we did in the Mid 80s.

Stop whining.

SMU football is a garbage product. Lecturing people who just want to have a good time is not going to fill the stands. Improving the product we are asking them to purchase will. Why would anyone other than our little band of eccentrics show up to see SMU play Temple? 90% of Dallas couldn't even tell you what state Temple is in.

Again we agree on the sports topics. Yes I don't blame fans until we have 3 seasons straight of beating quality teams and getting in top 25.

Stop playing stupid. Temple is a school no football fan has even heard of... and if they have, they only know them for being one of the worst teams in the FBS. Gilbert did an epic job dragging this pathetic team to a victory (barely) against a perennial bottomfeeder. That's not gonna fill the stands.

The blame the fans crowd on here seems to think SMU is somehow entitled to fans in the stands. We're not. We are peddling garbage and then we all act mystified as to why no one shows up. Why would ANYONE show up to SMU vs Temple?

Its ridiculously bad. We are going to be playing these type teams from now on. Get used to it. We are last in the AAC in attendance. SMU fans are not going to have a chance to wait until we get good. They have to support the program's modest growth now for us to keep our head above water

Well I guess we will need to hire a rent a fan because no regular person who wants to attempt to support smu will want to watch this joke of a team.

I have to imagine we get a bump in attendance next year for 3 reasons:

Better home schedule (if TAMU doesn't buy out)
New 2nd year dorms
Basketball buzz

Also if we have a new coach, with a big name, that may arouse interest

Better email Rick and tell him to keep the OOC slate loaded up because we're only going to get good crowds from Texas P5 teams. Fair or not, no one in this town gives a [deleted] about our C-USA Redux playmates (we have well over a decade of evidence from our time in the mid-major wilderness).

We are not getting a new coach with a big name.

We need all hands on deck for this issue: a school wide marketing campaign that makes it uncool/unacceptable to stay on the boulevard and skip the game.

Something like:

BYE BYE BOULEVARD
FILL THE FORD

support your team SMU fans!

Do you talk to CofC members? I do and don't count out the amount of cash they can generate. (I am not trying to start a flame war)

Railing on the fans is not worthwhile. If we had a great team, or even a good team that looked like it was Improving, Thani would say our fans suck. As it is I think they are usually making the right decision.

When we beat relevant teams the fans will come. Until then its just for show.

I would like to know who if ANY of you who have responded here?
