Let's see. Manziel's family is wealthy. Maybe Sumlin could get him to come to USC, sit out and party on the beach for a year, and then play one year at USC. It would just delay his NFL career for a couple of years and think of the fun he could have out there.

I hope he takes it, the Aggies need to be taken down a notch and this will show the Aggies that despite their success on the national stage, despite all their booster money, they still play in College Station and are not even in the top 10 as far as coaching jobs go.

Couple this with Nick Saban going to UT and the Aggies in College Station may completely melt down. I would love to see that.

He is still on his honeymoon at what may turn out to be the best job in college football. With the SEC move, new stadium remodel and UT down, he is young and brash enough to have his pick of the top recruits in the country. And to think the Aggies have the Longhorn Network to thank for their good fortune! All of this in just a short 2 year period. Amazing how things can turn around in just a year or two either way.

So many coaches produced by UH... (Sumlin, Briles, Holgerson, Kingsbury, Spavital, etc.)

They have done a terrific job, no doubt.

Whose making these selections?

Our previous AD Maggard, hired Briles and Sumlin. As far as Spaital, Holgerson and Kingsbury go, Sumlin is really great at surrounding himself with the right assistants.

Our current AD Rhodes (who could've went to A&M with Sumlin) hired Levine (who was one of Sumlin's assistants and the head recruiter iirc), who as of this year seems to be following in his predecessor's footsteps when it comes to surrounding himself with the right assistants. (Our OC was the co-OC at Ok State the last few years and our DC used to be the Broncos' DC)

Rhodes is also why our new stadium is being built and our donors have increased significantly among other things.

So it all seems to be rooted to hiring the right AD.

Sounds like a Houston football coach has trouble keeping his job.
