SMU Drops to No. 112 in Sagarin

probably one of major reasons is that SMU's strength of schedule dropping like a rock-down 21 places in two weeks to 66th. Its going much LOWER in next 2 weeks with No. 158 (UCONN) and No. 140 (USF). SMU has played 1 team in Top 20 (A&M No. 11), 2 teams in Top 50 (Texas Tech No. 44).
3 teams in Top 75 (TCU No. 68)

Hey! We dodged playing one also. That should give us some points.

Man talk about turn of events. It looked like AM and Tech were going to be top contenders and dropping Baylor hurt the strength of schedule. Should have dropped AM there's no benefit to playing them. None of their fans come and when we go there we get thrown around. Baylor at home would have been fun I think.

You do pay attention around here, right? There were many credible reports that SMU tried to drop A&M but could not.

Sure but they should have found some way anyway. Otherwise oh well, the past is the past. Its a shame that tech has been playing so poorly... And AM isn't as hot as last year.

We aren't helping any of our opponents "strength of schedule" either.......

Stallion please stop with the stats; yesterday was bad enough. I was hoping for a day off of bad SMU news.

Ponysnob, that's definitely the truth, maybe one day we will actually make other teams rankings go up when we win rather than down. BoP totally agree as I would hope the majority of fans would want him fired and his entire staff. I can't say this was embarrassing loss like the OCC games were but this and Rutgers should have been wins. If he was able to get a team out there that could play 4 quarters we would be 5-3 or heck even 7-1 since tech and TCU could have been winnable games if we played with discipline.

We have to play 4 quarters of good offense and at least get some shutout defense if we have any hope of beating cougar high or Mickey mouse U..

For me, I'm not going to be as emotionally attach to the games since it looks like a 5-7 season based on past performance. I'll be at the home games but its just going to feel like the season is over. Thanks JJ.

Tech is smoke and mirrors, we were supposed to beat them, even Vegas put them -2.5 coming into that game.
TCU's offense is inexistent. HORRIBLE! There is no excuse in letting them put 48 on us. TCU should have been a win. Sadly, this was the year to beat them, because once they start getting Big 12 talent (they are arguably one of the hottest programs in the Big 12, even while losing, Oh and they compete vs Texas in recruiting) they will have Big 12 depth and we will never beat them again.

No neither the TCU nor the tech game "should" have been a win. Those teams teams had clearly superior talent, coaching and execution. Hence why they beat us.

Where on earth do you get this stuff from? Have you watched the games??? "Could" we have won the tech game? Possibly, but the reason you play 4 quarters of football is that in the end, the team that performs better will win out. Usually you perform better with superior talent and coaching.
