Baylor coach Art Briles has received a 10-year contract extension. The Baylor Board of Regents approved it Wednesday night.

Most of these contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on, but this certainly makes his buyout much higher for Texas or Florida or the Redskins to pay, I'd imagine. With that said, I don't think he's leaving Baylor

At least he's not going to UT and too bad he didn't sign with SMU.

He has received the extension and the board has approved the extension, but nowhere does it say that he has signed the extension.

More like "Art Briles negotiated a much larger buyout"

Smart move by the Bears. I'd heard he was the front runner for the UT job - before Mack went on his run.

Its going to be interesting. Baylor got hit hard in that OU game. Tevin Reese out for regular season and he is one badass receiver. Then they lost Lache Seastrunk and then 2nd string RB Glasco Martin too. Not sure they will be back this week. Luckily 3rd string Shock Linwood has been outstanding. Came in leading nation in yards per carry and added 184 against OU. Texas lost Jonathan Grey and DT Chris Whaley for the season. War of attrition-probably helps OSU. Contending teams all have tough schedule down stretch and they are all playing each other

Saban isn't going to Texas. You can take that to the bank and cash it.

UT is in a very difficult position right now. Mack Brown has had several disappointing seasons in a row (by Whorns standards). But what better options are out there right now to be plucked. Baylor just sealed the deal with Briles. Saban could coach at Bama the rest of his life. Les Myles isn't leaving Baton Rouge.

100% Agree. Saban is staying in Bama. And good that Briles is staying in BU.
