If not, that could partially solve the attendance problem.

Maybe University Park could place a curfew for the consumption of in public privately served
alchoholic beverages at 30 minutes before SMU game time until 15 minutes after the final
whistle.
Possibly exclude from the curfew a bunch of end-zone sections that are usually empty during
games with far away visiting teams.

The fact is that too many come out for the party and not for the game...its not just that they keep partying, they are walking away in droves as it gets closer to kickoff.
As I've said before, our "fans" don't take this program seriously. An energetic coach, great marketing, and consistent "big"wins over major teams are the only ways to fix that.
If not for the boulevard I'm not sure we would have had 4k out there yesterday.

It's mostly an apathetic student population. Don't remember Baylor having a problem when they were doormats. They pretty much filled their stadium for a game with us, when we were both pathetic. So that's where it starts, getting all the student into the game. No excuses.

But Baylor has always been playing schools that they cared to see. They are playing traditional rivals where their high school friends attend and many make the trip to visit friends and watch the game.
If we were in the big 12, I don't think we would be selling out, but it wouldn't be as pathetic.

No it wont. Winning will solve the attendance problems. Try this & you will get a lot of unhappy customers that will either go home or never show up. Can't legislate success - you have to work for it.

Just a personal observation, if the school mandated that I could no longer be in place A and should go to place B, that's just going to make me hate the school more and not go to place B just to spite them.

I won't argue with your personal view, but I do think we ought to shut down the Boulevard during the game. What does Ole Miss do? Perhaps they don't have the problem of needing to evict Grove-goers, but I'd be curious if they do "close it" during the game. A quick search didn't turn up any definitive answers, only that the Grove is the place to be pre- and post-game.

If the product on the field is good, it won't be an issue. They'll go!!!
It's difficult enough to get the public to come to our games with the product we have.
Let's don't irritate good customers where they wont come back.
