I'm going to speculate it was an acl tear. I've done it twice. Looked familiar.

Looked bad. And they weren't working on him which says he's done I think.

I think MCL would be more likely since he was, more or less, able to walk off. Still not good.

Strain. I bet he plays next week, but it won't really matter if we lose tonight.

Unfortunately, most athletes do not know how to slide. In fact, most major league baseball players have no clue how to slide. I am sure little time is spent on this simple art even in spring training. Many do the belly flop and fail to protect their hand, fingers and shoulders thereby risking injury. Those that try a feet first slides usually slide by going on their side which causes the knee to hit first and dig in and cleats also digging in risking injury to knees and ankles. The real art of sliding involves literally sitting down on a heavily padded butt and using several variation of leg positions depending if you want a pop up slide or inside/outside hook slides. You do not hurt knees, ankles, shoulders or fingers by executing a proper butt down slide.

Contrary to what most believe, tearing your acl does not hurt. Most athletes get scared because they feel and hear their knee pop, which is the ligament tearing. The acl allows for lateral movement. It has no bearing on whether or not you can walk off the field. RG3 played with a torn acl last season.

And the only one who matters is the one who will read the GGs MRI later this week.
