“The SMU-Hofstra basketball game contract was signed in the spring of 2012, with a specific return date of Saturday, December 7. Attempts to identify an alternate date were unsuccessful, and facility restrictions limited the available game time options. Moving forward, we will attempt to avoid scheduling men’s or women’s basketball home games on Saturdays in November and early December to minimize conflicts. The conflict this year is unfortunate, but we will do our best to make it a great day for SMU.â€

They made a mistake and have faced up to it and said it will not happen again. Good enough for me. At least now we can blame each game for the lack of attendance at the other.

It's not a conflict, it's a choice. Just pick one. Now, was that so hard?

Think FriscoChuck was looking around for 20 tickets. . . Something about taking a youth group to the game.

This thread says all you need to know about why SMU football is unlikely to ever be a big time player in college football. An early season bball game against hofstra vs sr day against a top 20 opponent???? I am surprised at the responses.
