How badly will we beat UCF?

#16 team in BCS with tons to prove on National TV against a FR QB in what will likely be a poorly attended home game after the 34-0 whooping put on us by UH. Unmotivated coach, no running game, no pass defense (other than Acker), and quite possibly the worst ST in the country thanks to our Futbol Americano ST coach (what a joke) make me think this may be one of the worst beat-downs since the DP.

Turn out the lights, the party's over -

UCF 55
SMU 10

Empty stadium, poor performance (again) on ESPN make even the June-apologists say "you're fired!" Even Carl Sewell won't be able to ignore these two losses - after all, they are a preview of our 2014 season.

Time to tear it down and rebuild this program in another mold. Time to say enough is enough.

It depends if Gilbert is playing. I will take Gilbert on one leg over Burcham on his best day every day of the week and and twice on Saturday.

I hate to say it, tears my heart out...but we need to lose this game badly in order for a move to be made on JJ.

From one of the pay sites, we are hearing through back channels that JJ may be extended 2 years with no buyout, effectively making it a one year deal.

I think that those CofC members on the fence or in support of JJ need to witness another epic beatdown on ESPN to finally make their minds up about firing him.

Extend JJ and you lose any true diehard fans left. Folks that have been re-upping their season tix for deacdes have posted that they will not renew again and will not even renew Blvd spots. Makes me sad.

But loyalty is a 2 way street. Why should fans continue to care about this program if Admin doesn't show the same in return? Honest question.

Burcham was not the reason we lost the UH game. He will be a fine QB for us imo. If they shoot GG up with drugs just to win a game for a lower tier bowl and risk him getting injured even worse that would be unfair to GG.

Bottom line is JJ should have a backup QB (who is our projected starter next year) ready for action and he was not. Doubt much changes this week.

This is a team game, and we lose because many facets of our team simply STINK!

We need to email everyone on the CoC with a list of our recruiting classes from 2009, 2010 and compare them to this year's. That should paint the picture pretty well; they're smart guys, they should be able to figure it out.

I think some of the CofC may actually be the problem - apparently, some care more about SAT scores and keeping out of the negative news cycle (e.g. TCU drug busts) than they care about wins.

Hey, it's not my money and I really have no right to criticize how they spend it. As a fan, I can simply say enough is enough and no longer give my time, energy, MC donations and whatever else it is that I provide.

PS - Wasn't it a small group of donors and other individuals that basically got us the DP in the first place? I don't know why we put so much trust in these small groups of wealthy people- simply because they've made large amounts of $$ in business or through inheritance?? How does that make you qualified to make a decision on college athletics?? Guess what, it doesn't make you qualified at all.

I'm hoping that Louisville beats Cincinnati on Thursday and UCF is BCS even with a loss to SMU. That way the game could be a repeat of the Tulsa game last year when Tulsa had little to play for and we get bowl eligible. Stop, wake me up! I must be dreaming. Anyway, I have to pull for my Ponies to win. The JJ thing will play out on its own. (My guess is one more year, win or lose).

Interesting aside, on the AAC CSNbbs web site, they majority of fans think we are the 5th best team in AAC ahead of Rutgers, et. al.

We are better than Rutgers. That was our one bad loss for the season. Of course we did not win any against good teams so I understand why the natives are restless.

Burcham certainly didn't help us on Friday. QB has to shoulder part of the blame when the O puts up a big goose egg.

I agree but he wasn't the entire reason SMU lost.

I still have faith in Burcham as QB, but he did not play well against Houston. Lack of playing time over 2+ years will do that. Maybe he can play better on Saturday.

someone else said it earlier-its not so much that Burchum did n't perform adequately-he didn't and deserves an F -the real issue is that June Jones didn't have a backup ready to play in his 6th year. Remember Gilbert was dropped in his lap. So these backups would have been the guys June recruited and planned to start. June has struck out at recruiting and developing QB. Guys like Art Briles and Mike Leach have gone to through 4-5 straight QBs ready to step in and ready to play at competent even outstanding levels
