That's surprising. They haven't done well recently, but it is a tough job to win at.

Grobe is a great coach and this was a stupid decision by Wake.

Reports are that he had like 4 or 5 losing seasons in a row.

Correct, four straight losing seasons. http://www.collegefootball.bz/wake-forest

The last coach to leave WF with a winning record departed in 1950 when they were members of the Southern Conference. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_Fores ... s_football

Yep, except I hope we don't let him have 5 straight losing seasons before realizing something needs to be done.

I think Duke, Vandy, Stanford, Northwestern success is putting pressure on all the privates. Losing in football will not be tolerated. Wake has the money to be a power player in football.

Pressure on the private schools except for SMU, whose admin has no desire to be any better than mediocre as that might reflect on their academic status.

"I had certain expectations for the last two years and we didn't meet those expectations, and that's my fault," Grobe said. The longtime coach said the program needed "a new focus" and "some new energy" in order to move forward.

He did win an ACC championship, and I thought beating Vandy the last game of the season would save his job.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
