You can't deny...

...That this team played their butts off today. To have a chance at a drive under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter to win. That's impressive. They didn't quit on June, and save for a few mistakes they played a solid game.
Penalty on Lasecki and pass interference on 3rd and 12 were back breakers.

Thats what is frustrating. The kids play hard for June and it would be so easy for him to be accepted by the fans but he is so stubborn. There is no doubt he is a good coach, just freaking recruit and act like you give a crap.

Losing Burcham obviously very tough as well. He played much better than Houston and showed promise against a good team.

The problem has never been JJ coaching. He does coach up kids and they respond positively to JJ and staff. The problem remains that he does not recruit and therefore does not have the athletes and depth to move this program to the next level.

Good effort just not enough talent. Defense seems to still have some problems with up tempo offenses.

I thought the defense did great. Third quarter was very rough but other than that we gave up a whopping 3 points to a highly ranked team. Conditions were obviously a factor but I thought they did a great job defending the run and screen plays. SMU held UCF 50 yards below their rushing average and 40 below passing. I'd take that effort all day long.

Won't deny the kids gave a great effort. . . Can't say the same for a staff that won't put the kids in a position to succeed.

pretty much agree except for his tiresome, stubborn refusal to put in a Jumbo package

Uhhh, the kids were in a position to succeed. They had a drive at the end of the game to win, which by definition is a position to succeed. When you have a walk on at QB for that drive it's asking a lot.

couldn't agree more; everybody runs spread offenses these days but when short yardage needed, they let their OL put a hand on the ground and take snaps under center

in spite of the coaching staff
