Funny that he never uses his media connections to promote SMU

Both of you said it exactly right...........I don't understand why SMU is even thinking of a contract extension.......no one in the stands should tell the powers that be that we fans want more & better from our coach!

I actually do not think it is as much of a Jones thing as a Steinberg thing.

Yet Steinberg represents June, so it comes back to him

I think you are right. It smells of Steinberg. ASU II.

If June gets any type of extension after saying what he said to the DMN and ESPN people it would make it seem like we are so desperate the we would take abuse just to have a coach.

Agreed. I don't know how any of us could continue to support a program that allows itself to be treated this way. No self respect.

The only positive would be if it angers a big money man enough to truly do something about it. Money always wins.

Well, since Jones is Steinberg's only client these days, he has plenty of time to spend on him.

You mean to the media to say some more stuff or back to coach next year?

If jj is back next year I think you will see a major drop off in MC contributions, ticket sales and butts in the seats. I already know of several generous donors that have said 'no mas' if jj returns.

I disagree. I bet JJ is back, like it or not, and we'll see yet another increase in MC donations. It may be driven by basketball, but I doubt we see an exodus of any donations. I know too many people that have added bball tix on the backs of their football contributions that won't give these up any time soon. Plus, a lot of funding is coming in as part of second century and with the increased target of $750 MM to $1,000 MM, we will see a share of that designated to athletics.

I think the only real change is an increase in the volume of complaining on pony fans.
