The Green Bay Packers' Chris Banjo, a 5-foot-10, 207-pound safety out of Southern Methodist, chatted with the Journal Sentinel's Tyler Dunne about his mother's death from sickle cell anemia, his love for movies and why he'd like to meet Michael Jackson and Martin Luther King Jr.
Where did you grow up and what was that like? I grew up in Houston, Texas. For me, I wouldn't say we were poor or anything. But it was definitely hard to get the essentials you needed growing up. Being that my mom was sick, my dad was the only one working most of the time. It was kind of tough. But we were still blessed and fortunate enough to get the things we needed.
