Sad...everyone in the media is making a field day on our attendance. Time to do something about it.

You should see the article that one of the players wrote about the attendance a few years ago in the school paper. It ended up making it onto the front page of yahoo. I'll try to find it

Several years ago the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team played a home game while there was a snowstorm outside. Even though the Flyers routinely sellout, only a few hundred fans attended the game.

It would've helped if we had put everyone on the east-side instead of the west-side. Despite assurances, the reason behind our poor attendance was only mentioned briefly once or twice. The constant camera angle on the easy east-side looked horrible. They also took a lot of wide angle shots of the stadium. Even a sprinkling of people on the east-side would have looked better...alas, no.

Hey PonySnob, I posted a comment to this stupid SB Nation story, and I mentioned the Redskins game. These reporters are just total Dumbasses for taking potshots at
a school for not showing up in the Effing ice… and they act like free tickets is supposed to make a difference. Duh

Why the hell would I attend games for Houston? I don't live there and could care less about Cougar High.

I graduated SMU and will renew my season tickets, with or without June.

And FTHP, I wouldn't say they ripped SMU on this, either, they just pointed out what happened. But, just the mere fact that they write story is just flat out stupid.

Baylor game vs. Texas had the same weather conditions on the same day and they had a full house. Things are a matter of priorities.

Baylor was playing for the Big 12 Championship and a BCS Bowl...we were playing to maybe become bowl eligible for a second tier bowl slot.

and how hard is it to get around Waco in icy conditions. Not even close to comparable to DFW traffic.
