This poll hopefully is neutral (don't want to destroy recruiting

)

Too many options...
And if SMU doesn't want to destroy recruiting, they either have to fire June no later than next week or give him the extension. Time is of the essence.

I think there will be an agreement in principal this weekend. The school will make promises to resolve outstanding issues going forward or JJ will resign. I don't know what will happen, but I think SMU has to either [Gary Patterson] or get off the pot. I think Hart knows this.
For me, JJ could be forgiven for a lot of things (hear me out). He has done a lot of good things for SMU. He got SMU to start the process of changing. He brought us to our first bowl game in forever. But in the end, I think his downfall with SMU will be the lack of community out reach.
Each year he restricts his interaction with the SMU community a little more. There are no more happy hours, no more lunches and camps are restricted to only 11th and 12th graders. His recruiting has gone down hill for the past couple of seasons. That is all about getting out and showing your face. Having a losing season is forgivable, because people know you and what you are trying to accomplish. The Lord knows we know how to be patient and how to handle a losing season. But, by either personality or a conscious decision, he has become more and more distanced from people who want him to succeed. This doesn't engender support for him (quite the opposite in fact). Lastly, has he ever gone out on a fundraising effort to build the IPF or any other project on the campus? Look at what Paterno, Bowden or Mack Brown did for their schools. Will Muschamp, George O'Leary and Jimbo Fisher are all over the state of Florida for speaking engagements to raise awareness about what they are doing and ring the dinner bell.
For the record: JJ should be let go. He does a fairly good job teaching the players (I won't go into his game day management - it makes me nuts). He hasn't done the other things that a HC needs to do off the field. These are inconvenient, but necessary to build the program. JJ isn't inclined to do this. Worse, the ADs haven't made this an issue and requirement.

+1 on your comments. Unfortunately I am afraid that rgt and casper are going to take in the shorts again. The admin. just doesn't have the cajones to stand up to him and say 'no'. As a result we are probably headed to fball purgatory very shortly. He does what he does and the admin has no real answer.

I'm afraid your are correct. If is safer for them to stick with the Devil you know, rather than rolling the dice. If that means taking it in the shorts... so be it.
What blows me away is that RGT is a fantastic fundraiser. He doesn't hide in his office, he is the man about town. How come he has never pointed this out to the AD or coaching staff?

Did SMU extend scholarship offers to the backfield team of Simon and Garfunkel, (aka The Hebrew Halfbacks) ?

Why would that be, when they could make latkes on the gridiron, or with the Iron Skillet if we beat TCU. And, if they really performed, we could reward them with gelt. Oy Vey Ponies
