Interesting how high we are on the list of Texas division 1 schools. These are number of players currently on NFL rosters:

UT - 35
A&M - 21
TCU - 16
SMU - 14
Baylor - 10
Texas Tech - 10
Houston - 9
UTEP - 7
Rice - 5
North Texas - 4
UTSA - 1

As I stated before. We had a coach who could recruit but not coach. How we have a coach who can coach but not recruit.

When do we get a man (or staff) that can do both?

We need to hire Fatterson from TCU...he can recruit and his defense is beast.

However...our food and beverage budget would skyrocket, since he would demand glorious feasts for every game we win...

You get a proven coach who has demonstrated those abilities

Cost of having GPat as SMU coach...


Although I would argue June has been letting himself go...

This should be a big selling point. Also look at how man NFL HOFers we have compared to our TX brethren. We might not be the biggest brand but we get to the pros and have you ready when you get there.

How much better should SMU have been with all of this NFL talent over the last few years? Just tells me that SMU has underachieved and you have to look at the coaching.

Agreed. We had beasley, Darius Johnson, and Aldrick as our 3 receivers a few years ago and scored a combined 23 points against army and utep that year. Definitely on the coaches there.

Actually our class rankings under JJ > class rankings under Bennett

for sure in 2010-11, get a solid recruiting class after bennetts recruits left and you have something
