Notre Dame’s Schedule for the next 3 years they are playing Rice, Massachusetts, Temple, Nevada, and Army. I see posting on ponyfans to avoid Big 12 and dumb down the schedule but I’m taking the other point of view. In the college football world, ND is a team most people have an opinion on. Either love them or hate them. ND’s fight song is renowned. ‘Play like a Champion today” sign. Touchdown Jesus. Gold helmets. Tradition is legendary. They have a big following.

Temple is playing them 1 home and 1 away. Maybe it isn’t necessary for 2 away 1 home. When luring recruits or head coaches to SMU, if they are fearful to take the field against ND I would avoid them.

ND’s football schedule from 2016 is already posted on their web site. Telling me that people make preparations to attend their games years in advance.

Hopefully JJ is long gone when ND and SMU have opening about 2017. Love the Michigan game, but let’s rekindle the famous SMU/ND rivalry for a couple of years.
One of these days SMU must win that long awaited major upset to get this program to the next level. Won’t get there if we don’t try.

SMU vs Notre Dame would be great, being in Notre Dame regular rotation is definitely worth the effort.

not really

most schools have all their OOC lined up years in advance.

being an independent and a large draw they generally have never had to wait for a conference to set up their schedule b/c they were always an OOC set up well in advance by other schools.

the ACC agreement complicates things a little but they are almost always going to have their full schedule set 3 or 4 years down the line as long as they are not a full conference member.

They love to play in big cities and to get all the money. Recently, they agreed to play BC in Fenway Park. They are the "home" team. When they played Uconn in NYC, they were the home team.

Dream Game: SMU v ND in a sold out Cotton Bowl during the State Fair.

But, our next special game will be against Michigan in the Big House.
