Aledo is quite a team. I didn't think Brenham was going to win district, much less get to state. There's so much talent in the D-FW metroplex - and June is just hanging out, thinking they'll come to him.

But none of those kids send their video on or try hard enough to keep in touch.

We also can't handle being told "NO" at all, so it's better to go after the low hanging fruit...er, diamonds in the rough.

actually I think we did just offer Lodge-right. I think that was the kid EJ was excited about last week. Of course, he'll get offered by everyone now.

Check that-SMU offered 2015 South Oak Cliff wide receiver JF Thomas

The first thing I would do whether I was June Jones or his successor would be to go to Desoto head Coach Claude Mathis with a starting bid of $400,000 per year to be our RB Coach and let him hit every school south of Downtown. The best 3 teams in Texas are probably Allen but then Desoto and Cedar Hill. Allen beat Cedar Hill earlier in season but Desoto had Allen on the ropes a couple of weeks ago

Did you see Xavier Washington Defensive MVP of the game? I looked him up on Rivals and he has been offered by Rice and Yale among others but no SMU.

If you offer Mathis $400K, you have to be ready to offer your current assistant coaches some serious raises. The coordinators don't even make that much, do they?

HaHaHaHa
They can hit the road then I can hire someone else that actually recruits
We just posted the USA Today article on assistant pay-$400,000 is chump change for a bunch of these guys at BCS schools

I'd be shocked if we get one player from any of the local championship teams. The receiver that Stallion mentioned already has too many BCS offers for us to get involved. His file/tape has been forwarded to the WDNWHA committee for a decision.

I just did a Rivals search for 2014 or 2015 Cedar Hill prospects who have received Division 1A offers. Cedar Hill has approximately 8 recruits with offers. SMU apparently can't use a single one because SMU has zero offers out to Cedar Hill recruits. I remember the CB Marcus Green came to our Junior day with his family and Rivals did a story about how he was interested after talking to position coach Odum and Morrison who was reported to be the Coach assigned to Cedar Hill but then heard nothing back. I was shocked he didn't receive an offer on the spot or within days. He's going to OU. The Damarkus Lodge kid-apparently we aren't going to try to even make a sales pitch about SMU having 2 receivers with 100 catches in one year and a long line of NFL receivers. No offer.

same thing at Allen-they have 8-10 recruitable athletes in 2014-2015. Previously mentioned how SMU completely dropped the ball with Tay Evans and Christian Sam after they reported definite interest after SMU Junior Days. SMU did no follow up and they soon lost interest. No other Allen players can apparently help SMU because SMU hasn't offered any others
