Video: Top 25 Fails of 2013 College Football Season

25. Onside Gone Wrongside

After scoring a TD, SMU gave the seven points it had just scored right back to the Horned Frogs. Chase Hover’s attempted onside kick bounced perfectly to TCU’s LaDarius Brown, who fielded the ball and raced right by SMU’s special teamers en route to a backbreaking score in the Horned Frogs’ 48-17 win.

That's an understatement. We catastrophically bad this year. GG should've been the permanent punter

Hopefully June hires an actual coach for 2014...at least show like you want to try and keep your job beyond next year.

To win a football game, you need to win the battle in two of these three: offense, defense an special team.

Our terrible special teams meant that half the battle was lost coming into any game, which is why we got blown out by BCS teams and only won against teams that our offense and defense dominate such as UConn, Temple and USF. Montana State was a fluke and so was Memphis.

Cincinnati was a game that our offense dominated, but our defense was getting beat and worn down by their running game. Special teams gave the game away with the missed field goals/great field position for Cincy/horrible returns.

New Special teams coach or a new game plan must be in place so we can dominate that side of the ball. It will make the job easier for our offense and defense.

Since when is scoring 25 points having a dominate offense?

You have to be good in all three areas and the fact we totally ignore one of them just drives me crazy.

Our offense dominated, we moved the ball really well, but Cincinnati made sure that our offense was kept off the field as long as possible. If our defense was really fast, we would have scored more than 25 points that game. Also this is not counting the missed opportunities in that we had a touchdown called back by a holding call, and the 2 missed FG opportunities. Reminds me of the TTU game at home.

Remindful of the Aggie onside kick debacle two years ago. If I was this coaching staff I would beg Thomas Morestead to come out this spring and teach our players and coaches the finer points of special teams. He is not only a great punter and kicker but revels in the finer points of the game and an in-depth knowledge of action and reaction to different spins, bounces, left-footed vs rt footed.....one reason the old tornado ball helped win a super bowl instead of the standard end over end kick that has a straight, easy hop to field. Little things can make a diffence

Morstead is also more dedicated to his craft than anyone else I've ever even been around. He'd be able to slap anyone upside the head who isn't putting in enough time or effort to perfect their craft. The guy is always %125 focused on his excelling at his job.
