A little nugget dropped in for y'all ...

@PonyBoy I actually talked to Gresham last night. This is a golden gift for the Ponies. Gresham actually reached out to them not the other way around. Since it's so late in the process, he doesn't have very many options. He visited SMU yesterday and is going back for his official on Friday. My gut feeling tells me he'll side with the Mustangs unless something better pops up. But it definitely won't be because of June Jones.

our recruiting philosophy under June Jones - wait for a golden nugget to drop in your lap - heck, that started at Hawaii, didn't it?? Colt Brennan?

and it continued with McNeal, Margus, Gilbert, and now Gresham? Gotta love it.

Don't get me wrong - I am happy that we can occasionally land these guys...and they can be game-changers...but this is NO WAY to build your team!

4 players in 6 years.......no wonder we haven't won any conference championships or beaten any relevant teams (besides 1 TCU win) during the JJ era.

Totally agree- just think if Gilbert, Hunt, and Shawnbrey hadn't literally fallen into our laps?

Gresham is a player though. He could make an immediate impact next season.

It is quite possibly the laziest way to get to 6 wins in the history of NCAA football.

That said, of course I would kill for Gresham. But it is just so frustrating to see Jones use smoke and mirrors to claim great recruiting. Getting transfers and Jucos for 1-2 years just cannot sustain a program!!

I think he was referring to Jones not initiating contact. Are you saying SMU not initiating contact with good players is good?

Yes its great for SMU to be the 16th offer when the kid called us. It happens so often and we save on recruiting expenses. Its because of June the Tiki Warrior!!!
