Well in all honesty we wasn't a star given the hype out of high school. He was surrounded by incredible talent (albeit subpar coaching and a revolving door of offensive schemes) and never was able to get it done at Texas. Even his first year here he was very average. No doubt this year he was sensational but the body of work doesn't merit him being considered a "star".

I do think he will make a fine NFL quarterback. He's got great instincts, a strong arm, and toughness. Wherever he goes he's going to make it very hard for a team to cut him.

In fairness, when you are as hyped as he was you would at least expect the player to be in the Heisman conversation. I wouldn't take it too personally.

He was smart to get out of Texas while he did. He did enough here at SMU to show that he is an NFL caliber QB.

What GG did here last year was great, but in all honesty guys, he's undrafted rookie free agent material at best. I think if he made a practice squad this year, that would be huge for him.

He's athletic and he's all the tools you would want, but if I were a GM, I'd see that he basically failed in two separate offenses before jumping into an air raid offense that has produced many qbs that put up great numbers in college and then do nothing in the NFL or even make it to the NFL. I'm not saying it can't be done, but the last year was basically a flash in the pan for him.

I hope he does make it and we would have been absolutely awful without him last year, and I do think he has the tools, but I still question some of the accuracy issues that plagued him throughout his college career when he wasn't throwing quick slants every play.

That's a good assessment, blackout. GG's entire career hinges on whether he can get right with his noggin. He's all world physically and athletically.

He will get an opportunity and that is all you can ask for. Worked for Romo didn't it. Worked for Brees and Wilson. He just needs to be in a system where he is not asked to carry the offensive burden but instead to get it to the playmakers and with few turnovers.

To be fair, GG looked pretty bad until he started lighting up mediocre AAC competition like Temple and UConn. He was atrocious in the TCU game in Ft. Worth.

In the NFL, the QB absolutely has to be able to carry the offensive load unless you have Beast Mode or Adrian Peterson in the backfield. It's a pass first league,

Brees was a second round draft pick and Heisman finalist while Russell Wilson was a third round pick and set the single season all time passing efficiency record. I don't understand the comparison.

Romo, sure.

i still think GG's a late round pick, maybe 6 or 7. That wouldn't surprise me. I'm 100% confident he is in camp with someone, practice squad at worst.

My guess is that he goes UFA on potential and connections. Then, who knows. But I'd bet money he's on an NFL roster next year.

If Colt Brennan, Kliff KIngsbury, Case Keenum, and Kevin Kolb can't succeed in the big boy league - I just don't think he has much of a shot.

Maybe a JJ coached QB will finally take a snap in a regular season NFL game......

Look for qb guru Marc Trestman and the bears to take a chance on GG
