I know none of us were expecting much of a showing at the combine this year, but I am surprised that Gilbert wasn't at this years combine. Was this due to his injury or just simply not invited? I would have thought with his stats and pedigree he would have at least got an invite.

If ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all have a party. Anyone who thinks Gilbert is going to be drafted into the NFL is delusional. NFL scouts aren't just going to watch the bowl game highlights to catch the few moments where June and the team bothered to try their best.

If we would have gone undefeated and been to a BCS bowl this year instead of UCF...I can guarantee 100% Garrett and a couple of the guys would be in the combine. Doesn't matter how many guys June sneaks into the NFL, it's about the wins and championships.

It is silly that GG didn't get an invite unless he is still injured.

That said, I would love to see the breakdown of number of combine invites from SMU per year over the last 5 years.

I think GG gets drafted. Maybe not that high, because of the offense he ran or because of the level of competition, etc., but he's big, tough, smart, mobile, etc. Someone will take him, and I think he'll make a roster, too.
