Mike Mitchell?

Any word on him? Some people were speculating he might be transferring to SMU for next year, I'd also read where TCU/Baylor were thought to be the favorites. Obviously a sensitive situation because of his father's health, and I guess he doesn't have to make a decision until this summer, just wondering if anyone had heard anything. With Rambo gone and Pope supposedly splitting time between RB and LB, he'd certainly have the opportunity to get on the field soon here.

If he really wants to be close to home, Tech isn't really a good option

I was thinking the same thing. That's what, a 5 hour drive from Plano?

If he wants to be as close as possible to home, then I would think SMU would be the logical choice, with TCU a close second.

If he wants to play big time football but still be nearby, then Baylor, A&M, and Texas make sense.

Tech is an outlier, though. Hell, OU and OSU are closer to DFW

I prefer the kid goes to Texas Tech before he goes to UT or BU...

I prefer the kid goes to SMU before he even thinks about TCU or Baylor, UT, A&M, etc.

I can't understand why anyone would want to live in Waco or Fort Worth. Ever.

As someone who lives in Fort Worth, and who lived in Dallas for many years, I can say that Fort Worth is an excellent city. TCU's campus is a mewling turd in comparison to ours, but the city is fantastic.

Ikus, I agree that Waco is a pit, but can't lump Fort Worth in there as well. Its only drawback is that TCU is located there. Now as for Mike Mitchell, we really need him to choose SMU (Has he taken an official visit?) to help us shore up our defense.

I would say Lubbock instead of Fort Worth.

Funny that I feel the same way about Dallas. But that's okay...good thing we get to choose where we want to live!
