I think he has a great chance since he has the physical tools and will be working with NFL guys who can transform the tools into a finished product. Not sure his strong point is 2 and yard crossing routes for little to no gain as he was used at SMU while dodging the floodgates through our offensive line. Big, mobile and strong arm and a tough kid. No character issues and seems to keep things in perspective. Doesn't say the wrong things in the media and teammates like him as a friend and leader. Of course you know who will take the credit if he is successful at the next level.

And he'll deserve part of the credit, though he'll be humble and defer to Gilbert's hard work and natural abilities. Geez, what a hate parade 24x7

As much as I am not of fan of JJ, he deserves the credit for turning G2 around.

At least you don't get accused of being FTHP...

It's a dang witch hunt if you say we will win this year or if June is a good coach.

Not only does JJ (probably Morrison and Chang some) deserve credit for his turnaround and resurgence for the physical part of the game, I'm guessing they did a lot on the mental part (confidence as much as anything). If JJ is/was not at SMU, IMO neither would have GG been here.

You are right, JJ will take zero credit for it and deflect to GG's God given abilities, competitiveness, character and work ethic. Which of course are all valid and true.

june deserves the credit for GG's turn around. June would make an excellent quarterback coach.

I sure would like to see my Texans pick him up late in the draft and develop him. Hopefully they don't make the mistake of drafting the Money Badger.

Gilbert said Friday that he recently had a private workout with the Atlanta Falcons, and is in the process of setting up more.
