Cool article about Big 12's options.
SEC and ACC are looking to start working together. Big Ten and Pac 12 already do.
Big 12 needs to either expand or make an alliance with AAC.

What? The SEC and Big 12 have already agreed for their champions to play in Sugar Bowl for years to come. Plus they have multiple bowl games matchups

SEC will play nice with ACC until they swipe VT and NC State away.

After reading this, it does make more sense for the ACC to form an alliance with the SEC. Geography and rivalries.

*yawn*

An SEC source told ESPN.com that the ACC's idea of an "8+1 model" was merely a concept that had been discussed only once and was a long way from being a reality. It was so premature, he said, that most athletic directors in the SEC hadn't even been briefed on it.

"Achieving that objective involves exploring as many options as possible, which we are currently doing," Slive said. "Anything more is pure speculation."

On Tuesday, ACC commissioner John Swofford told ESPN.com that there "is considerable support" for a nine-game schedule, but ACC coaches had a teleconference Thursday and one described their sentiments as "very undecided" and "wide open."

Huh?

You cannot argue that there are a lot of natural rivalries and geographic overlap between the SEC and the SEC. I looked the two conferences up on a map and I am pretty sure they both have schools in the exact same states.

Think of the rivalry possibilities. Auburn vs Alabama AND Alabama vs Auburn are two rivalries that any other combination of conferences would be hard pressed to match. Florida-Georgia AND Georgia-Florida? Come on.

If the SEC forms an alliance with the SEC then the other conferences should just give up.

If I tell you the truth and say I am not FTHP, you say that I am. I just don't care anymore.
