Do the SMU coaches think we have a chance against Baylor?

I was speaking with one of the assistant coaches about the Baylor game recently and it's like he was getting his excuses ready for a big loss. Didn't seem to think SMU even had the foggiest chance to even keep it close let alone possibly pulling an upset. One thing I know is that if the coaches don't think we can win or play a good game against Baylor then the players certainly aren't.

Is June Jones and the coaching staff already rolling over to Baylor? You have to be kidding me, BU is probably the Big 12's most overrated program. I am more afraid of TCU than BU come next season.

When I heard what he had to say I was literally speechless. Yes, I know that is hard to believe. I just changed the subject.

I believe that would be a somewhat accurate statement.

I am surprised you did not take the opportunity to address it with him rather than anonymously criticizing him here.

Nothing I could do about how he felt. That is why I am not naming who the coach was.

And it is more uncomfortable to criticize anonymously. Don't forget that part.

Not uncomfortable either way. Just caught me off guard. I will probably see him again soon. What would you suggest I say to him?

I would say whatever you think is right rather than keeping your mouth shut in person and criticizing anonymously in the internet. Could be an interesting conversation.

SMU will be down 4 scores in the first quarter. ....no way SMU will be able to hang with Baylor this coming year. SMU wasn't prepared 2 years ago, got blown out early and SMU has a less talented team this coming year and Baylor has even better athletes than the last time they played. Turn out the lights early on this one.

So you are just being your normal jerk self. He and I have been in heated debates about the recruiting but I have never heard a coach throw in the towel before a game like that. He just sounded like there is very little hope. Maybe they are using reverse psychology on the team and fans.

Did he mention who he blamed for those inadequacies?
