Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenI just saw he is playing in the tiny IFl for the Bemidji Axmen-wow.
Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenToo bad they don't play Texas Revolution at Allen. I'd go watch. It's pretty interesting but I don't go to many games. I like how 2 receivers can be in forward motion before the snap.

Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenAnother guy I've noticed that's getting some contract work with these kind of leagues is Spike. Posts a lot of updates on his Facebook. Would love to see him get another shot at the NFL like Banjo but he's a bit undersized.
Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenSpike is 6'2"-6'2 1/2" and is currently 305, and had a good 3 day camp up in Canada with Jeff Reinbold. What I don't get is how someone does not get him (ask him) to drop down to 250-260 and be an absolute beast at FB and special teams. At 305 he ran a 4.78 with a 34" vert. I think the NFL is missing out IMO. At his SMU pro-day a year ago he ran a 4.7 ... 34" vert ... 10'2" b-jump at 290. Crazy numbers for a guy that size. Plus he has the other intangibles ... heart, motor, loves the game and contact .... and a NASTY streak.
Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji Axmenyes but at least Torlan is no longer subject to hard labor and servitude from the NCAA. You want to really understand the value of an average athlete (actually Torlan was well above average) as opposed to the top 1% of the College kids that so many in the media focus on. Interview Torlan about his earning potential. Interview Torlan about whether his opportunity for life long success, employment benefits and earning capacity was more greatly enhanced by his experience at SMU or the Bemidji Axmen. Then ask him 5 years, 10 years, 15 years down the road. Then interview the male and female swimmers, golfers, tennis players etc who also got a free education.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenWhere is Bemidji?

Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenI'm pretty sure the first episode of Billy Bob Thornton's new show Fargo took place in Bemidji... Looked really nice

Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenAnyone able to say why he was off the team before senior year? I don't recall. PM me if it might be any bad reason.

Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenIt was a bad reason. If I recall it was a sexual assault charge and he spent some time locked up until bail was arranged. I believe the accuser recanted her story and he was exonerated. He came back in good standing but it had to be a traumatic time.
Anyone else feel free to correct my recollection. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Torlan Pittman playing for the Bemidji AxmenAh jeez. I'm off by a year. He had a senior season. Forgot the #1 rule: Malonish is pretty dumb.
