Of course. A very real argument also can be made that he should be ranked ahead of several who are listed ahead of him.

The key here is that this list is the opinion of someone named Steven Lassan, who is 100% anonymous to anyone who isn't related to him. He might be brilliant, but we don't know that. Does he think Mike Trout is better than Bryce Harper? Is he a Kobe guy or a LeBron guy? Who does he like between Greg Popovich and Rick Carlisle?

The answer: Who cares?

JJ clearly doesn't belong at the top of this list and clearly doesn't belong at the bottom. If this list were done with basketball coaches, we'd all like to think he'd put Larry Brown at or near the top. But would we have room to scream if he had LB ranked behind Tom Izzo? Billy Donovan? Coach K? Pitino (the smart one, not his blatantly unqualified son)? Calipari? No. It's one guy's opinion, and as they say, everyone's got one. Get 10 people together to do a list like this, and there won't be 2 that match. Unless it's your boss or your wife, don't get to worked up about someone else's.

Of course, I made my point by doing the same thing. So sbsmith thinks JJ should be lower on the list, and I suggest he could be higher (although there are some listed below him who I would rate above him, too). My opinion is no more or less valuable than yours or that of the guy who wrote the story. It's 100% opinion, which can be debated endlessly, and we'll never get everyone to agree.

His miracles were of the "smoke and mirrors" variety, at this point he's trending down and living off his rep. Fortunately for him he has no shortage of media/fan sock puppets that still believe he's a miracle worker so he's going to come out ahead no matter how far he drags this program down.

By attacking the author in clear Ad Hominem fashion you are showing your desperate and jerk side as a Jones suck up. As a coach that took 6 years before he started to hit metroplex schools like this he is about right in rankings.

Come on the guy hasn't been 100% in his recruiting efforts but cut him some slack. It ain't easy to go head to head with the big dog programs in the state...even if we were top notch in everything, we would still be in line behind UT, Texas A&M and OU, and possibly LSU, Bama and other out of state teams for the pick of the litter.

Our long term Focus should be to compete effectively for recruits with other privates like BU and TCU and lower/Mid tier Big 12 like Texas Tech, ISU, OK St, KU, K St. And WV.

Let's focus on being the best of the AAC before thinking of beating any P5 teams YET.
