For non-UT and non-SMU fans reading Startlegram, a recap of his college journey, agent touting his guy as legit NFL candidate, why he chose SMU when he left UT, etc.

Good for GG. I hope for and wish him the best. He has all the tools and always has ... some time pie has to bake a little longer. He is a solid young man of high character ... impossible to root against.

I really want him to get picked in the draft, I believe he has all the tools to be an NFL QB.

If you look at all of the big time qb's that we played in the past two years (Carr, Bortles, Manziel) can you really say that any of them are better than GG? Manziel is the only one who was more talented.

Bortles and Manziel performed better than Gilbert, Carr played like crap. Though all three have much better overall performance records/film which is why they'll be drafted much higher than Gilbert.

Manziel was lucky against us (well, the first time...)

I wish gg was healthy for that ucf game and had gotten the chance to play against bortles this year. Its certainly possible any of those "top 4" guys in the draft could go to a bad situation (ie oakland / cleveland) and have their talent wasted while a GG type of guy falls to a team that allows him to develop and he could come out with the better nfl career.

I really believe Garrett will be good at the next level.
