This goes out not only to the UT faithful, but to all on here who doubted Garrett Gilbert. Thanks JJ for yet another NFL draftee. Gonna be fun to see Matt Davis go in a few years.

If Garrett had come to SMU (or really any other school besides UT) straight out of high school, he would have been drafted a lot higher

I wonder if it ever occurred to any of the Texas cognoscenti that maybe it was the players and coaches that were surrounding GG and not GG himself that was the problem.

I think it was mentioned severql times over the years that GG was never in the sae offensive system for for than year in college as Mack Brown keep changing the offense. SMU was the only place where he was in the same system for more than 1 year.

I agree. Had he gone somewhere that had the same offense system for 4 years he may have been a 1st day selection.
