he's made several All-CUSA teams and was consensus All-CUSA Preseason LB for 2013 but he was recovering from a knee injury and missed the 2013 season. Recorded 91 Tackles in 2012 and 210 tackles in his career. Big addition

Wow, when was the last time we got a transfer that actually did something at their previous school? If healthy he should make an immediate impact. Need like five more of these transfers at various positions to make a bowl though.

Garrett Gilbert played in a national championship game - wasnt great but wasnt awful afterwards - but then watched the whole thing at Texas turn toxic on him.

Good deal. Let's hope he does well, we need everything we can get at LB.

That is really big news, and perhaps the reason why Pope is moving to RB instead of keeping him at LB which was a huge hole...

Finished second on the Rice team in 2012 with 92 tackles while listed as a senior.

Was listed at 5-10, 240.

Nice addition. He sounds like the kind of player who should be able to handle the leap to The American.

If he was so good, why didn't Rice want to keep him?

He's a graduate Senior going for his masters-so he was free to pursue a new school

Reading the Rice board is funny... they really don't understand that SMU is in a better conference and is in a position for him to get better recognition from the pros.

Didn't know that Rice even cared enough to have a board...

I would think the odds of going to a bowl game are better with Rice. He is 5'9". I doubt he will make it in the pros. But glad to have him.

Yeah I don't think Rice has any control over him since he's graduated.
