that 4x16 model many predicted over 20 years ago is getting closer. would immediately create an eight team playoff. will be expensive to participate

It will be interesting to see the impact of an expanded playoff system. In basketball the holy grail is the Tournament which makes schedule RPI more important than conference affiliation. Thus, teams in 2nd tier conferences can recruit and compete.

Hopefully this will give teams like SMU a opportunity to recruit with now the ability to play on a national stage.

And it will be seeded with the usual suspects (LSU, OU, Texas, Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon, Florida, Michigan State etc.)

I'm waiting for A&M to actually become a suspect. I know they have recruited well. And they get a lot of media hype. But when exactly was the last time they actually won a conference championship?

Like 1998 when they upset K State in the Big 12 championship game or something like that.

People can bash Texas and deservedly so, but I want to see the Aggies actually win something b4 we treat them like royalty -- something they don't deserve yet.

I compare A&M's standing in the Football scene to SMU in Basketball right now. Great teams with solid recruiting that haven't won anything yet, but are favorites next year.

I probably should not have included them in the "usual suspects" list yet, but they do have big dog written all over them.

A&M is recruiting well-ranging from No. 4 through No. 6 in their own conference during the years they have recruited for the SEC. So while they have been successful-they have not been dominate

Most Aggies I know expect them to win 8-9 games next year. Not sure I'd call them favorites for anything but 4th place in the SEC West again
