I don't know how this is possible but projected Tech starter Davis Webb lost 45 pounds in 1 week in Fall drills prior to SMU game in 2013. That's why SMU got its big lucky break to play against a walkon true freshman QB. The rest is history

I call BS. No way he loses that kind of weight in 3 days. I'm guessing those new high tech measuring magic machines were too complicated for him.

impossible to lose 45 lbs in 3 days. i've probably lost 10+ in 3 days from a stomach virus and i was upchucking, not eating and not drinking much.

Wrestlers do it all the time but I have not seen it with football players.

same here. lost 10+ in three days and it was horrible. 45 is not realistic in any scenario.

This was during 2-A Days so I'm not sure it translates to every day experience. I guess he is saying he couldn't hold down liquids to replenish after workouts. How much "water weight' can a player lose during 100 degree August 2 a days. 8-10 pounds is not that unusual right?

I dropped 8 lbs in one day once prior to a wrestling meet. I didn't eat anything solid all day then spent most of the evening jogging all over north Dallas wearing sweats and my letter jacket. Then dipping/spitting all the next morning. BUS can probably relate. But 8 in a day is the most I've ever heard of.
I probably put 5-6 of those lbs. right back on the next morning at Denny's right after weigh-in... all water weight.

Physically impossible to lose that much weight unless you go to Dr Kim and have him slice it off like Nate did.............

He didn't lose 45 pounds of fat in such a short time. He mainly lost fluid to get that much off in 3 days. So he basically lost 5.5 gallons of water over 3 days. Since the average human body has 10.5 gallons of fluid total, he would have had to lose about half of his body fluid to get that weight off. That would be a very dangerous amount of fluid to lose in such a short period of time even for a young healthy individual.

The worst I ever did was 12.3 pounds in 3 days as a wrestler. I was literally shatting mustard and wanted to die. I hardly ate anything and only kept enough water in my body so that my pee wasn't the color of an IPA.
Point being, I spent the whole time running (one time in a wet suit, where I almost collapsed of heat exhaustion) and working out and hardly eating, and it was just over 12 pounds. If PP, did 8 in a day, then that's about the most I've ever heard (depending on his weight class). 5 isn't too big a deal depending on your size. 45 is literally impossible.

I was a wrestler and did some crazy things to make weight. Nothing says fun like jumping jacks in a rubber suit in the steamroom. The most that I did was 11 pounds overnight after I had to drop a weight class unexpectedly.
But, I don't recall anyone trying to lose more than 20 pounds quickly.
