Nov of 1981 SMU whips the Hogs 32-18 in what was called the Polyester Bowl in front of 43,000 fans in Arkansas. I took a bus from our campus to theirs with my best friend Glenn and will never forget that game. Your thoughts if you went to this awesome game.

Go Ponies~

And you wonder why the media is always bringing up the Death Penalty.

All we do is live in the past.

1981 was 33 years ago. The same distance as between 1948 and 1981. That's the same era as Doak. Based on that, we are due to be good any time now!

One of the great moments to be a Mustang-DE Eric Ferguson broke up a tight 4th quarter lead over the Razorbacks with an interception deep in Arkansas territory and Craig James closed the deal on 10 yard TD run--and SMU were the Champions again

Football is built on tradition, which comes from the past. Should we forget about Doak Walker too? How bout we just forget the last 99 years ever happened! Really?

Drove back from Arky-town late after the game, thinking I would get a head start on the long trip. Pulled into a gas station in F-ville to fill up the MGB, and the service station guy (yeah, they used to pump gas back then) saw the MustangMania sticker and told me to "get the ____ on down the road back to Dallas". Refused to sell me gas. I cheerfully went across the street to the Exxon station while he yelled that I was the offspring of a female dog, or some such. I waved (not the bird), but gave him the whole flock. A VERY satisfying game.

I was there with my 9 year old son. I have a photo of him on the field after the game with Craig James. My son is still proud of that photo.
