Saw Rishaad Thur and he said he was headed to Abilene to play ball for ACU. Moving out this weekend and will have 2 years eligibility. Look to me to be about 250-260 ... said either DL or LB. I know he got bounced around a little here, I hope he settles in and does well. Wish him the best.

I hope he does well.
Another scholarship available to replace someone who was not going to contribute.
I think that is a good thing.

A totally mismanaged player. Good luck at ACU.

Don't know if he had the frame to be a NG but that's a place everyone absolutely needs depth, especially against hurry up offenses. Felt like he could have contributed there but didn't get a legit shot because of JJ's fascination with having 5 250 lbs blocking backs on the roster...

Holleman is leaving as well. No reason given.
E.J. has the story today in his DMN blog:
http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com ... gram.html/He says Wimbley was told he wasn't going to see playing time next season.
I agree with an earlier poster, talent wasted.

Wish them both the best. I feel badly about Wimbley in terms of being a wasted talent here, but less about Ace. I got to go to an early practice this spring with a former coach. When he saw Holleman out running routes, his comment to me was to the effect of "is that kid a freshman? He looks lost out there". Not a good sign for a third-year WR. Not sure he is a talent wasted or just someone who didn't fit. Hope they both find a place where they can thrive and get good educations.

he just never got it like we all hoped he would. best of luck to them both, though. they gave a lot to the program.

I don't even think I know who these 2 were. Was Wimbley the one who broke his leg in the bowl game against Pitt?

No. He got a few carries against Memphis in 2011. Actually looked pretty good. I also think he was the intended carrier on the goal line of the non conference game where we had a shutout with less than a minute left, QB fumbled and allowed a 95+ yard return for a TD. Could be wrong on that however.

Wimbley had a few good games at RB when Zach was hurt. I remember he had a pretty long TD run against Rice and I think had 2 goalline TDs against Pitt in the Compass Bowl

Jerrod Williams is the young man who broke his leg in the Pitt Compass bowl game. Rishaad move well and had quick/nimble feet for a big guy.
