I agree completely with the second part of your statement.

Regardless of who it is and maybe this is because I have trained with women who can kick my arse is that if you throw leather you invite it to be returned. Now, if he followed with a flurry then he'd be too far out of line but what I saw was not out of reasonable bounds. Yeah I look like a Richard for saying it probably.

this guy is a highly trained football player. in effect he is a lethal weapon capable of killing someone with a singe punch. this wasn't some wild punch. he looked her straight in the face and punched her. i don't know how someone can excuse this. if he were an smu player i would be very upset if he were on the team and would cancel my season tickets. hitting women is about as low as it gets.

i'd say punching babies is lower. but that's just me.

Please Nacho. I was a highly trained football player but never had any lethal weapon training. Hitting a woman in the face is totally uncalled for by anyone but football players are not trained in the art of assassination.

I could probably punch harder than most footballers *pretentious sniff* because it's not about strength before form. If one knows how to make some proper pugilism then the strength matters at that point.

Should he have punched her? No. Is she innocent in the matter? No. Suspend them both for a period for consensual fighting then move on.

I would never punch you Nacho. I would just sneak into your home at night during the hottest part of the summer and replace all of your clothes with nothing but black outfits.

I thought the notion that women weren't responsible for their own actions went out of favor in the 70's? If a much smaller dude assaults you, you stitll have a right to defend yourself. These days women are just smaller men, so he had a right to defend himself. She doesn't get to assault people just because she is a woman. If we are going to be a "fair" gender neutral society let's be one.
