you may remember recent pot charges were dropped and TCU fans had hoped he would return. But now Carter joins a long list of TCU recent recruits ruled academically ineligible-TCU has gone from one of the Top programs in the Country in keeping athletes eligible to one of the worst. Aren't they borderline on their Football APR right now? I believe so

Yep-they've really dug themselves a hole with their great APR scores rolling off the 4 year cycle while their disastrous recent APRs coming home to roost. 4th worst APR in Division 1a

That's it, we will no longer help them in any regard.

Either they've had some really [deleted] luck on player behavior recently, or the wheels are slowly coming off for "GMFP." See also: Phil Fulmer's final seasons at Tennessee
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Gary Patterson can't recruit with the elite Big 12 schools like Texas and OU, and he's not a good enough coach to consistently win games with inferior talent like Briles.

His track record on questionable recruits is, well... Questionable.

TCU got to where they are by recruiting very physical SEC-style players who were under recruited in Texas because of the Big-12 preferences of finesse and speed. He also found a lot of tweeners that were very athletic and fit his scheme.
One of the huge things that hurt TCU's recruiting base was the move of A&M to the SEC. That opened the door to A&M recruiting the same types of physical players, and those same players being higher regarded in the recruiting circles. Because more teams are moving to TCU's defensive shape, the players who were formerly tweeners position-wise in traditional schemes are now a good fit for a lot of programs in the country, increasing the competition for those players significantly.
Attempting to stay at a high level, TCU has had to take some risks on players who were academically or otherwise considered risks to stay in school. Get too many of those types of players on the same team and you no longer have a core leadership that can keep people in check and the wheels fall off a little bit.

Their move to the Big12 is proving much harder than they thought it would be. They are now THE doormat

KU will own the cellar for a while, or most likely forever.

When Kansas was good, we were saying the same things about Baylor that we say about KU now... football historically sees lesser teams rise for 6 years and then fall for 15.

so how long or how many losing seasons does Gary get before the academic and off-field issues come into play or did he do enough in the mountain west and rose bowl to get a 10 year extension. Remember Deloss would just give Mac raises and extensions when his problems aand losing arose.
