I worded it that way so it could open up lots of fun posts . . . topics could include: blow, fur coats, court rooms, party houses, etc etc.

This is exactly the type thing SMU needs to foster, IMO. They may be a have-not but find a way to maximize the area potential.

Relationships with SMU's and Dallas' all time greats and current staff/ players.

Irvin, Deion, Dickerson, Carter, Dupard, Romo, Jason Garrett and on and on and on....

Give them some SMU gear to wear. And for God's sakes, publicize it.

Pursue a relationship with the Cowboys and Jerry Jones (who I've seen at numerous SMU graduations). Play a game in JerryWorld once a season. Have our kids meet the Cowboys and staff, get them on campus, maybe informal drills between teams, mix it up with them once in early fall camp, see instruction from the top level. Sell this in recruiting.

Maybe there's a bi-law against such or maybe we continue to distance ourselves from pro sports like the old regime stated, I dunno...or maybe it's a dumb idea..

But it seems the type atmosphere and advantage recruits may notice and current players would enjoy and benefit from...

I agree. If we on social media can retweet/facebook/instagram this kind of stuff, it's a start. Bball has it dialed in for sure. Fball can as well - just need the product.

ojai and austinponie are right. This is invaluable and should be multiplied by fans. Duke FB gets a ton of attention every time a Manning visits.
