This really should come as no surprise “They haven’t played the bigger teams so their schedule has been a little misleading,†Spurrier said, according to a first report by Josh Kendall of GoGamecocks.com. A&M’s nonconference schedule last season included Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU and UTEP. Spurrier referred to those teams as “barely Division I†according to the report.

So wait, ECU is okay, but not SMU?
ECU is "like a middle of the pack B10 team" and SMU is "barely D1"?
Ball Coach does realize we are in the smae conference and beat them, right?
This...this is the reason I am starting to HATE the new college football and will likely never watch a P5 game should they break away.
Idiots.

He couldn't be more correct. They have won 3 out of 11 games against ranked SEC opponents since they joined. All hail Johnny Football and those 4 loss season championships. They will finally be exposed this year.
Still haven't played Georgia either

And yet Spurrier has scheduled East Carolina, Clemson, South Alabama, and Furman.
Only one of those is better than what A&M has scheduled. Furman is FCS and South Alabama is transitional. So essentially he has 2 FCS teams and he wants to call out others for being soft?
I guess the dementia is setting in.

This isn't anything new with Spurrier...and he's right about us being an easy W for A&M...

This isn't just directed at us as a team. All four teams are a step or two behind a P5 team; you have to schedule at least one heavy-hitter as a program. Clemson counts for USC, Tennessee counts for OU and so on. When A&M and UT pull there heads out of there fourth points of contact and play each other every year this will be a mute point, regardless of the rest of the competition.

Keep in mind this is the same guy who voted for a Duke team on a 20 game losing streak in his top 25 when he voted in the coaches' poll.

As a PROGRAM I don't see ECU as better than SMU but THIS YEAR I think their roster is in an UP year when SMU is having to rebuild their secondary, break in a new QB, and fill spots on the OL. ECU has a LOT coming back so it makes sense that Spurrier considers them a tougher out in 2014. I mean if SMU had their QB it would probably mean 2-3 wins on most peoples season projections so it's a fair point. So we have 2 games that are roughly equal. ECU 2014 > SMU 2014 (based on what each has coming back) Clemson > Rice (Duh) 2 games that are tougher vs 0 that most expect to be tough. It certainly isn't equal in noncon but then again USCe doesn't share a division with Auburn, Bama, and LSU.

Our OOC is a bit steeper than South Carolina's...and A&M's...
their Conference games rank ours. Welcome to the P5, Ball Coach.
Welcome to our world, too.
