5) UConn will make a bowl game by beating SMU

Here's how I see the season playing out:

Wins - Stony Brook, Boise State, Temple, Army, at Memphis

Losses - BYU, at USF, at Tulane, at East Carolina, UCF, Cincinnati

UConn shows up to the Rent in December at 5-6 with a chance to play in its first bowl game in four years. As the college football world focuses on conference championships and playoff berths, UConn pulls off the victory of June Jones' last SMU team - that guy has clearly lost interest - and hits the magic six-win mark.

The reward? A trip to play in the BITCOIN St. Petersburg Bowl on the day after Christmas at the site of UConn's first men's basketball national title.

It's not the Fiesta Bowl, but it'll feel just as good. And the cost of attending will feature less zeroes.

I was going to say, there's no way some guy in Connecticut knows anything about JJ or anyone else down here, except maybe Larry Brown. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he got that idea from the anti-JJ crowd on here.

It cracks me up how some on here blame the few JJ critics on PFs for things such as the bad press he rarely receives, or his inability to land recruits. It's comical really. Any decent journalist with access to the internet can lookup SMU's recruiting history, SMU's wins and losses and SMU's home attendance to get the story. Truth be told, PFs is about as tame a fan site as you'll find. If this same scenario was playing out at TCU, Baylor, TT or any other school we wish to be like, it would be a blood bath on their fan site.

How does Larry recruit and June can't?

Maybe not quite at the level of LB, but JJ had a very good rep when he arrived at SMU and he hired a few guys who recruit. After those first couple of bowl games this program looked like it was heading to that next level. Then ASU happened, Kleem leaves and we know the rest. Plus, JJ never hired a Texas guy to recruit, LB did with Ulric.

Actually, those close to the program say the opposite--he has increased his effort. In fact, he called his staff in a week early this summer to prepare for this fall.

But, good luck finding a new coach at a school that fires a top rated golf coach fort excessive texting-an NCAA rule that has subsequently been eliminated... firing a golf coach? Firing a well connected AD that was our only athletic catalyst in 30years...king you have no clothes! Hiring an AD whose hiring record at UT- Chattanooga included the dismissal of the football, women's and men's head coaches within months of his hire by SMU, who has nothing to say as the P-5 rolls over us!

Keep getting your facts from 19-21 year old wannabes sports writers that don't even have degrees in journalism and in some cases no degree at all... yet!

Is that what the coaches told you to say since you are their propaganda machine? I think if you actually checked you might see that Sean O'Leary is older than 21.

Orsini had more than a few coaching whiffs of his own - see Matt Doherty.

Since I will be at the UConn game, I will be very angry if we don't win. Why? I am convinced that Uconn would have a difficult time making the HS Playoffs in the big division (Is it 6A now?) Not be be mean, but they are bad.
