My goodness - if you were a right wing conservative at that game, you were in heaven - Rick Perry, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz and George W Bush in attendance.

Interestingly, Baylor was one of the finalist for the GWB Library, and they offered them acres of land, a little league baseball park, and lots of other things. They turned down Baylor in favor of SMU due to the fact Baylor being in the middle of no where, and SMU being located in Dallas allowing the library to stay relevant.

Where they really a finalist or was somebody just being polite? The library was never going anywhere but SMU.

Bush is a Methodist and so is his wife. It was going to be at SMU.

Shrub attends a Methodist church though I am not sure he is a Methodist. His religious/political views are far to the right of Attila the Hun. Baylor or Tamu would have been more appropriate landing places for the "library" if one considers the respective student bodies at these institutions are far more conservative than at SMU.

As to the relevancy of Shrub's "Library"; only relevant to extremist right wingers who most likely vote Tea Party.

Laura Bush is a 1968 graduate of SMU. His chief White House legal advisor Harriet Meyers is a 1967 and 1970 graduate and Karen Hughs his chief political advisor a 1972 graduate of SMU. Library was always going to SMU.

Laura went to SMU, they live in Dallas, and lots of his major donors, including from his governor campaign are all here. They were probably only entertaining other offers to be polite and get SMU to play ball. But I think location plaid a huge role in selecting SMU, so the Library/Institute could stay relevant. It is easier to get relevant people (all over the world) to quickly and easily fly into Dallas than it is to fly (do they have plains) into Waco.

To orguy, I had not political intent in my post, I prefer to keep posting neutral as the point of this board is football.

My main point was Waco is a hole, and should be avoided at all cost.

oddly enough the Univeristy of Dallas was also in the running, Wikipedia has a general overview

Yes. This is a football forum. Fair enough.

Agree about Waco being a hole.

Your political views have no place on this board. Laura was a classmate of mine, when we graduated in the same year. Your post is PC beyond repair.

That's true but both GWB and Laura are also Methodists.
