Did Gaines Play?

The only time I noticed our wide receivers were when they were dropping the ball. I saw Gaines, but did he actually get into the game. Seems like with the pressure Baylor was bringing, we could of used him on short routes rather than running screens to the RBs. Let him settle into a zone. How about the pay action roll out to Gaines they used against Tech.
I know that is not RnS, but sure wish they could figure out how to use their best personnel.

yes he was playing a lot in the 4th Q. I'm not sure where he is weight and speed wise right now. People love the tall, physical WR on the outside but I really only think that works well with the freak NFL caliber WR who can extend the defense. Otherwise, you just have a TE playing WR. Just makes me scratch my head why he signed with June Jones RnS in the first place because June doesn't seem to know what to do with him. He's TE on a team that doesn't use one

"What came down to it with me was SMU's academics. They have top tier academics," Gaines said. "(Theology) I want to earn either a major or minor in that, and SMU's graduate school is one of the best in the country."
Gaines, who will line up in a hybrid tight end position for the Mustangs, is thrilled to be able to play football for head coach June Jones and thinks that the Run N' Shoot will suit him well.
"As an offensive player, you like touching the ball of course," Gaines said about Coach Jones' willingness to spread the ball around in his offense. "It's going to be a great experience I'm excited to see what's going to happen."

He has his head screwed on right. If I was coach, I would find a way to fit him in. The Thompson long bomb is not working.

Hopefully he holds on as the next coach will no doubt need TE's.

Well he was our most productive receiver last night. 2 for 21 yards.

He was almost as fast as Baylor's corners.

Our next coach will use multiple TE formations - this guy will be a star for us if he hangs in there.

DT couldn't beat anyone on Baylor spead wise.
Gaines played, I saw him in both halves.
Don't know if you could tell this on TV, but I thought it was very telling on the first series of the game when Baylor played with 0 safeties. Every single player was pressed on the line. They knew they would dominate our offensive line and that we had no speed threats and tested us on it right away.
