We need a decisive win at UNT

Postby SMU 86 » Tue Sep 02, 2014 8:26 am

If we lose or it is a close game with a bad UNT team then the outlook on the season would not be as good. The reason is because UNT would seem to be on about the same level as UConn, Houston, USF, and Memphis.

I'm definitely captain obvious on this one and I admit it.

We should win the game (although no win is ever certain when you're SMU), but I don't expect decisively. Our offense is nowhere near ready for prime time. These guys are just learning the ABC's of the offense at this point. Basic, basic stuff is a struggle right now in game conditions.

On a more positive note, the defense seems to be way ahead of the offense right now, which should help against a struggling offense like UNT.

We'll get crushed by TCU and A&M, hopefully squeeze out a win against UNT, and then maybe, just maybe, they'll be clicking by the time conference play starts.

A decisive win against a very bad UNT team does not mean a whole lot imo.

No we just need to win by the neck of our chinny chin chin. You got it wrong-this is a survival game. Style points do not count in this type of game on the road

If SMU loses this game, expect the great 2014 tune out between not only the fan base but the team itself.

That describes the whole problem with playing UNT in the first place. Little to gain, a lot to lose.

Hate to say it, but a decisive loss to to UNT could help get this show on the road more than a win.....

Barf. Can't believe I typed that.
