I am a North Texas grad. That is our rivalry. I hate SMU and always have.

If they were playing Russia State, I would root for Russia State to beat them by four touchdowns. The first question I ask Poppy every Saturday, ‘How’s SMU doing?’ The game I listened to last night. ‘How’s SMU doing?’ Well, they are getting their butts kicked up between their shoulder blades.That put a smile on my face.

I know the all-time series is way, way out of whack, but the last four are 2-2 and the last two times they came up here to Denton they got their butts kicked.

I know for you and your players who have never played them before, the series looks way out of whack, but ask anyone in green who they would like to beat more than anyone and they would say those chickens down there at SMU. They never played up here because they are too chicken to play us.

We finally got a 10-year series and that’s great because we can talk to them. They can talk to us.

We were never good enough to play in their conference. Their radio broadcast kicked our radio broadcast off The Ticket.

This game for me is personal. If you want me to talk to the players, I would be glad to because I can’t stand these suckers. For me it’s a rivalry.

That's adorable but they're never going to be our rival. Both sides have to care for it to be a rivalry.

UNT will never be SMU's rival. Sorry to say but our fans want our coach fired, and could care less for the outcome of Saturday's game if it means losing to UNT=June is out the door.

I agree they will never be our rival, but they are very close (if they aren't already) to being our football peer, which is sickening. I think I just threw up. Thanks JJ.

Its not a rivalry because their university is so far from ours in every way you can imagine.

If Dunham wants to get all hyped up then great, but his inferiority complex does not equal a rivalry.

smu is unt's rival...ok...but unt is not smu's rival.

What a goofy diatribe that was. Dude needs to lose about 100 pounds. Getting that riled up over something like that will take years off your life; especially if you're morbidly obese.

I have absolutely nothing against UNT. I was rooting for them to do well in their bowl last year against UNLV. With taking that into consideration, this game is in no way a rivalry. The overall record is 28-4-1. Sorry George Dunham, but that is not a rivalry...

Edit: SMU-TCU is a rivalry. Overall record is 46-40-7 TCU.

For someone to be a "rival" you have to have a small amount of respect for them that warrants your hatred. UNT? I'm guessing most SMU fans would say the box is unchecked.
