Fog of Warhttp://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com ... -unt.html/
For those of you who went to the film lunches, he said Fog of War all the time. Players never make plays...kids were always wide [deleted] open but never made the play....why is that coach? “With the pace of the game, we did not do a lot of things on defense to get lined up correctly, but that’s the fog of war. We had chances for three interceptions but dropped the ball. We just didn’t make the plays. We had hands on six passes that we didn’t catch. Even though we didn’t protect very well, somebody’s got to pick up the load and make things happen. Last edited by GiddyUp on Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:12 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Fog of WarThe fog of war would be a lot clearer if we had a better general.
Re: Fog of WarSame fog of war for the last 24 years...
Re: Fog of WarFog of War is his term for inadequate practice techniques. Of course he claims that our players execute 100% in practice, but that leads me back to the above.
Re: Fog of WarThe other metaphor is a battle plan doesn't survive after contact with the enemy. Our ability to understand and adjust to the competition has been an issue, e.g. Navy game. While we need to have a Commander, who is situational aware, our "troops" need to force the issue and be the ones dictating the flow. We need players, who can alter the events on the field and create their own mismatches.

Re: Fog of WarCaliber of athletes or soldiers/equipment effects fog of war. Superior athletes don't know fog of war. Bo Jackson didn't know fog of war because he knew he was the baddest dude on the field every time he touched it. When you know you've got an inferior force, you clam up, no matter how well you're prepared.
Put equal or superior athletes on the field with say, Baylor's offensive schemes, and there ain't no fog of war.
Re: Fog of WarSo you admit that JJ's insistence on his scheme's leveling the playing field against superior athletes is false?
Re: Fog of WarI still say, superior athletes aside, some full speed scrimmage would help lift some of the fog of war. Just learning technique does not work if you do not know how to apply it in battle. We were not properly prepared. In no way am I implying we would have come close to winning, but we certainly could have been more competitive.

Re: Fog of War
While we may not get superior athletes to Baylor's we still should have played better on offense. And the defense had 12 missed tackles which is not good. #HammerDown
Re: Fog of WarYes
but did he mention the peckerectomy?? That's still crackin' me up
Re: Fog of WarI bet this won't be the only time June uses this excuse this season. At least we have a solid scapegoat if we lose in Denton.
"The damn fog of war was so thick, again."

Re: Fog of WarIron Mike said it best:
![]() Without full speed tackling during practice, how in the heck will you be prepared for actual game speed?
