Since the win , UTSA has picked up 2 more commitments. One had a Houston offer , the other one flipped from UH to The Roadrunners
Just goes to show how important these head to head battles on the field are. Beating SMU would go along ways in terms of recruiting

The only reason to worry about it is if June sticks around or they hire another dud to replace him. Put together a real staff and we start recruiting a much higher level of athlete (see SMU Basketball).

Of course, they have all our prized recruits.

What's so sad is that their head coach said on his radio show that they recruit against us all the time. If we are still going after the same recruits that UNT goes after we are in worse shape than I thought.

I think he means offers. We watch tape and offer mostly. Then try to build a relationship after the fact.

Would you rather live in Denton for four years or Dallas?
Would you rather date UNT girls or SMU girls?
Would you rather go into a job interview with a UNT diploma or an SMU diploma?
Would you rather play games televised on an ESPN network or some regional channel?
This game should have zero impact on recruiting. We should never lose a recruit we want to UNT. Ever.

Sometimes it's about playing time as well as being able to fit into the culture at the school. We have lost recruits to UNT and UTSA before. Point being is shouldn't we be aiming a little bit higher?

Would you rather play at a snobby big city school where a bunch of preppy kids drive beamers paid for out of mom and dad's trust fund OR play at a school in a smaller town with hard working kids with no silver spoons? You can to some extent say the same thing about tcu but there are some players who would be turned off by the smu image. (Just playing devils advocate here.)

Sorry ReedFrawg but TCU is in the same boat as SMU. Only that we are in Dallas and you are in FW. Twin schools with the same attributes.

Stop trolling our board. Once you get beat on saturday, get lost. We offer your kids and they commit to us, the way it has always been.

Is recruiting at stake? No, because most of the guys we go after don't have any other D1 offers
