When SMU Football was shut down by the NCAA were some supporters banned from future association with the program including attending games?

I was a huge fan of Gary, I see him every once in a while, in the building he works out of. Sherwood, has an office in the same building.

The band wasn't a lifetime band. Just a few years.

What's the story on Beverly? Does she still dress that way? She's probably pushing 65 now.

Time to unleash the boosters and get the DP again. At least then we'd go down fighting. If the NCAA says you can start to pay players but only pay them X, I say, we pay them X plus 100X. Because we know that some judge in an antitrust suit is going to say, a salary cap is a violation of antitrust rules unless there is a national union involved (perhaps the NFLPA might want to represent these kids). So, let's just open up the bank and start a bidding war. Give Jones the right studs, and he'll win lots of games. And then the Bears turn us in, we turn the Bears in, and they get a wrist slap and we get DP'd.

East I like your idea except for the Jones part. His system is outdated and needs to go. There is a reason no other of the 120 1-A schools run it. Plus he would still need to recruit.
You could implement your idea with a good coach and an updated offense and we would be back!!

Personally, I think we help recruits 'sue' use and we settle with an agreement with a non disclosure part. Then we can pay them and its legal and they can't squeal on us. The NCAA can't touch it.
Say we really want a kid. He sues us for 'mental anguish' We settle out of court for an acceptable amount and the kid has to play for us and keep his mouth shut or the whole deal is null and void and we get our cash back.

Wow. One of the best ideas I have ever heard.

I like the way you're thinking ponyte.
Honest question, does Sherwood still hate us?

LOVE where this thread is going. SMU should call this what it is: a business! And I put our business acumen up against anyone's . . . with the right folks involved! . . .

I have not talked to Sherwood but have acquiantances that say he still follows SMU. I can't verify if that is correct or not.
