Whether UTSA wins this game or not UTSA is prepared and well coached.

Yes, but he also can recruit and build relationships with high school coaches and their staffs.

I don't think Coker, someone younger but who is in his mold and works a good plan.

Patience Mustang Nation. JJ is five years younger. In another half decade perhaps he will have the wisdom to recruit and so on. These things take time, you know.

Larry Coker can coach
really? profound insight. 2 seasons of complete dominance at the highest levels nationally in Miami and it takes him building a program at UTSA from scratch to convince you. You must have been one of Orsini's assistants back in 08. Thanks ole miss DUDE.
only 1 or 2 people on this board (versus hundreds who were vehemently against) were pro Coker back in early 08. I was ridiculed for even mentioning the guys name as a potential candidate.
And what of Coker's age as was so frequently brought up in 08 as a reason for not hiring the guy? his players at UTSA certainly are not too worried about the guys age. Would love to have had Coker as head coach. He would still be here and the program would in a far different stratosphere then its ever been post death penalty. Currently were stuck with a guy from the islands whose experience paled on the "success" meter vs Coker unless getting your behind wiped on national television against Georgia is a good thing. No wonder boosters at ASU were upset. June has never played a competitive game against a top 25 team (excepting TCwho) to the best of my knowledge and the vast majority have been absolute disasters.
Yes, "These things take time" indeed.

If and when jj decides to leave it would not hurt to check out Craig Bohl. Did ok at NDSt, now in first year at Wyoming.

Why? SMU is a better job than UTSA. And Houston fans are talking about him as well.

Maybe he likes the program he's building at UTSA and doesn't want to leave (despite the fact that both SMU and Coog High can pay him a lot more than UTSA). There's no expectations at UTSA and they'll let him coach there until he drops dead.

believe it or not, SMU just isn't very high up on the list for coaches.

Should be higher than UTSA regardless.
